Have Cellulite? 3 Ways To Reduce It

Cellulite is caused by fat cells accumulating and then pushing against the skin. This causes tough bands to pull down under the skin. Once this happens you will see cellulate appear. The cellulite can be on your legs, abdomen, etc. This is often caused by genetics or hormonal factors. You may also see cellulite appear after having a baby or if you have gained and lost a lot of weight. Fortunately, there are ways to reduce the cellulite on your body, three of which are listed below.

Laser Treatment

Using laser treatment is a non-invasive way to reduce cellulite. The doctor inserts a tiny laser beneath the skin. When the laser is turned on, it breaks up the bands to allow them to move back up again. Your skin may also become thicker which can help reduce cellulite. It can be used on any part of the body. The insertion points are so small that no stitches are required. The doctor may use an anesthetic cream to numb your skin before the laser is used just in case you feel any pain.

Laser therapy works well but the results may not last forever. For example, you may notice the cellulite comes back in about a year or longer. At this time, you can have the laser treatment again to make it go away.

Vacuum Procedure

There is also a vacuum procedure that can work to remove cellulite from your body. This is also a non-invasive therapy that is generally not painful. During the procedure, the vacuum breaks up the bands. The device used has small blades that cut through the bands. They then move up in the original position again to fill in the dimpled skin. Your skin may feel tight for a few hours after the procedure.

The vacuum procedure works well, and the results may last a few years. This will depend on your personal situation and the amount of cellulite you have on your body.

Things You Can Do

There are also things you can do to help reduce cellulite. If you are overweight, go on a diet and exercise to lose weight. You may then see less cellulite on your body. If you are obese and have loose skin after weight loss, this loose skin may cause more cellulite. To take care of this, see a cosmetic surgeon to remove the loose skin.

Exercising helps create more muscle which can make your skin look firmer and smoother. This will reduce or remove cellulite from your body. You will have to continue to exercise to prevent the muscle from turning back into fat again.
